Outdoor learning

Our large outside area offers plenty of opportunities for children to develop healthy and active lifestyles through physical activity, freedom and movement as well as experience natural world by:

  • learning about planting, growing and composting

  • wandering through a fairy world or dinosaur land within the small world area

  • reading a book under the trees

  • pretending to be at the beach in our very large sand pit

  • exploring the water area

  • creating delicious mud food or potions in the mud kitchen

  • learning about the creatures within the environment at our bug hotel

  • engaging in woodworking projects using real tools, wood and nails at our fully equipped woodwork bench (this activity is always supervised by an adult).

“My son was quite shy before he started at Oaks but he has now developed confidence and the ability to engage with his peers extremely well. He loves the food, the activities and especially being outdoors. I could not be happier with his time here”.
