Our Nursery

Every day at Oaks Day Nursery is a new exciting learning adventure.

Deep-level learning from real experiences

Our learning environment enthuses children to engage in exploratory play, stimulating all senses to deepen their learning, supporting their motivation and building on their confidence.

Both our rooms are equipped with natural and real resources for the children to use independently and the large outdoor area inspires children to learn about the natural world, develop woodworking skills and craft delicious mud pies.

Our curriculum - learning through play

At Oaks Day Nursery we follow the play-based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) national framework for children from birth to five years.

We plan and implement our curriculum in close collaboration with our families. As every child is unique, develops and learns in different ways and at their own pace, experiences are individually planned based on children’s interests and stages of development, to help them reach their full potential and develop a life-long love for learning.

Your child’s key person

Your key person is a dedicated professional who will form a special relationship with you and your child right from the start of your journey with us. At Oaks Day Nursery we view the key person approach as fundamental for working in partnership with our families and caring for children’s wellbeing and unique needs. Parents are the child’s first educator and most knowledgeable experts. As such, your key person will be eager to learn all about your child and their ongoing experiences at home, they will share with you your child’s experiences at the nursery and together plan the way ahead.

Our inclusive ethos

At Oaks Day Nursery we believe that all children have the right to access early education in an inclusive environment. Our professional staff understand and adhere to the requirements of the SEND code of practice 2015. Oaks’ Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) works with children, their families and their key person, to assist with any individual needs or requirements, as per our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Local Offer.

“Thank you very much to all the staff at Oaks, we couldn’t be happier with all your work and support. My children are coming in with a smile and they are learning and exploring every day”.
